DevDay Da Nang returned in 2018 for another successful year

On April 14, more than 1700 people returned to the University of Da Nang – University of Science and Technology to participate in DevDay Da Nang 2018. This is the 4th year DevDay Da Nang successfully attracted a great number of IT students, software engineers, entrepreneurs, IT experts to take part in an all-day open door event.

80% of participants are IT students from local universities and nearby provinces

Started in 2015, DevDay Da Nang, co-organized by Axon Active Vietnam and the University of Da Nang – University of Science and Technology has become the biggest IT event in Da Nang. This year, the event also received sponsorship from local IT corporations, including AgilityIO, Asian Tech, Code Engine Studio, mgm technology partners, Netnam, CMC Telecom, Coc Coc and other media support channels, i.e. Ybox, ICT Đà Nẵng, ICT News. DevDay 2018 also welcomed Mr. Othmar Christian Hardegger – Consul general of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City at the opening ceremony. The Consul appreciated the important role of DevDay Da Nang in the overall growth of the IT’s sector, which is to ignite the spirit of young engineers and encourage local corporates to take charge and contribute to sustainable development of IT industry.

During 4 years of development, DevDay Da Nang achieved noteworthy results in terms of size, quality and diversity of the event. The quantity of speakers joining DevDay Da Nang 2018 increased significantly compared to previous year, with a lot of them coming from other countries. 34 speakers at DevDay together delivered 32 highly interactive speaking sessions, providing different level of knowledge in below areas:

• New technology trends, for example web security, blockchain, Augmented reality, Virtual reality, DevOps, Artificial Intelligence…

• Vocational training and career orientation

• Management solutions for small/ medium business

The high quality and diversity of topics are among top factors of success at DevDay Da Nang, and the main reason for the increase in size of audience.

This year’s event also had the highest number of corporates participating in the exhibition with 14 booths and many interesting activities. According to Mr. Markus Baur, CEO of Axon Active, DevDay’s organizer, DevDay is a good opportunity for local business in IT industry to approach and engage with future employees as well as introduce their culture and value to potential candidates. He hoped there would be more companies, in Da Nang and nearby provinces, see the potential of DevDay, and contribute to bring next year’s DevDay to higher level.

DevDay 2018 ended with traditional gala closing party, which features music show, free food, drinks, valuable lucky draw prizes and the most favorite speaker announcement.
